IT upgrades underway

A series of upgrades to the District’s IT infrastructure are underway.

Currently, new servers are being installed at 10 schools, and what that means for you is that you’ll see a boost in the speed of the Internet and other functions. Servers are being installed at Landmark, Discovery, Coyote Ridge, Sine, Desert Spirit, Smith, Desert Garden, Imes, Burton and Sunset Vista.

Seven more schools will get a complete network upgrade in the near future. This will include new cabling that will improve network speed and wireless access. Those sites are Imes, Burton, Horizon, Sunset Vista, Sine, American, Desert Spirit, Support Center and District Office.

Within the next six weeks, upgrades will be made to Synergy, Visions, GOLD, the Web and email filter and the guest wireless network. The upgrades should minimize system outages.

Wireless upgrades are being made at Jack, Bici North, Bici South, Smith, Desert Garden, Mensendick, Challenger, Landmark, Discovery and Coyote Ridge. This is the last stage in improving the District’s wireless network.

Finally, over the summer improvements will be made that will speed up Internet access across the District.
