Board approves 1.3 percent raise

This afternoon the GESD Governing Board approved a 1.3 percent raise for all employees as part of a package recommended by the Interest Based Budget Development (IBBD) committee.

The 1.3 percent raise was .05 percent higher that what was recommended by the IBBD team. The raise will be applied to the base pay of all employees.

In addition to the raise, the board also approved:

• A reduction of site substitute allocations from six days to five days per full time employee (FTE);
• A change to sick leave accrual to two days earned at the beginning of the year, and remaining hours will be accrued each pay period during the school year;
• A change in personal business day accrual to two days earned at the beginning of the year, and remaining hours will be accrued each pay period during the school year.

A notice reflecting your updated salary will be sent out within the next few weeks.
