(Optional audio
accompaniment to this post)
We’re looking for
volunteers. And happy ones at that.
In an effort to show our
community some of the unique things that go on in our schools, the District
will participate in 100 Days of Happy beginning with the start of the
2014-15 school year. We need 100 (happy) volunteers who will send us a photo of
what made them happy during one of the first 100 days of school next year. It
could be new classroom decorations, a new feature added at your school, the bus
you drive, the room you clean, a meal you served, something you repaired, or
someone who made your day better . . . you get the idea. That photo will be
shared with our community through the District’s Facebook and
Twitter feeds (and maybe Pinterest, if we can get that set up).
Each volunteer will be
assigned one day. Those days will be assigned randomly. Once a calendar is
established, we will notify you of your Happy Day. You’ll also be sent a
reminder ahead of time so that you don’t miss your day. To sign up, just sent
us an email. If we get more than 100 volunteers, great. We’ll go up 180 Days of
Happy if we need to.
And for those you who might
want to do this on your own, or make it a class project, here’s the website.
So, c’mon, get happy.
