Reading adoption committee will begin work this summer

Starting this summer, we will be undergoing the process of requesting reading curricular resource materials for examination. To ensure all stakeholders have access to these materials, they will be available at each campus and at the district office for analysis and feedback.

A reading adoption committee has been created and the following is the make-up of the committee:
  • 34 teachers (a diverse group of General Education, Special Education, Gifted and ELD teachers)
  • 3 Site-based Literacy Achievement Advisors
  • 2 Principals
  • 1 Assistant Principal
  • 1 Special Education Achievement Advisor
  • 1 ELD Achievement Advisor
  • 1 Parent
  • 1 Coordinator for Literacy
  • 1 Director for Curriculum and Instruction

The reading adoption committee members were selected by their site administration and will be tasked with ensuring information is shared to and from their campuses.

Questions regarding the reading adoption process can be directed to the site representatives.
