GESD teachers who qualify
will receive the second half of their performance pay in October.
The October payment is for
the student achievement portion of the Performance Pay Plan, and represents half
of performance pay. The District’s total allotment for performance pay awards
is based on revenues the state collects under the guidelines of Proposition
301.
“Every effort was made to
determine the maximum award possible within the parameters of the 2013-2014
Performance Pay agreement,” said Dr. Donna Lewis, assistant superintendent for
educational services.
There are three components to Performance Pay. Component One is
worth 40 percent and is based on Professional Growth Choices made by teachers.
Component Two is worth 10 percent and is based on ratings of school quality by
parents as measured in the annual parent survey; and Component Three, which is
worth 50 percent, is based on student achievement-school performance. Teachers
were compensated earlier for components one and two.
